We had about six cups of rendered melted fat and we added roughly one cup of each dry ingredient.
Suet however is made from beef fat and is much harder to locate for purchase.
We are making these for a craft sale and are wondering if these will need to be kept cold until the sale.
These cakes can just be made with the basic birdseed mix or you can branch out and add in some safflower seed thistle seed black oiler sunflower seeds or fruits or nuts to bring in more types of birds as the stacker is intended to be used.

Fat peanut butter nuts dried fruit corn meal bird seed for this instructable we used bacon fat beef suet peanut butter peanuts raisins cracked corn and later remembered to add corn meal oatmeal and whole sunflower seeds.
Also added some pb and a quarter cup or so of cornmeal that was out of date.
Before offering the suet to birds however it should be rendered to help it maintain its shape more easily.
